Be Prepared For Some Detours In The Area

(official statements from the Iowa DOT & Illinois DOT on the area projects):

A project to replace a culvert on Iowa 136 in Goose Lake requires closing the roadway to traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 11, until Wednesday, Sept. 16, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Davenport construction office.

Motorists will be detoured around the work zone using a marked detour on Clinton County roads Z-36, F-12, and Z-24.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that IL 84, just south of US 30, will be closed to all through traffic from Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19, 2020. The closure will allow the Union Pacific (UP) Railroad to remove and replace the north crossing located in the area commonly known as “East Clinton”.

To allow continued traffic movement, a detour will be posted utilizing US 30, Dakin Road, and Ward Road.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
