Meetings this holiday week

Monday was the Memorial Day Holiday but some governmental bodies have meetings this week

With the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday it will change the garbage pickup in Clinton. There will no collection on Monday – Tuesday’s route collected on Wednesday then  Wednesday’s  route will be collected on Thursday with the  Thursday and Friday route collected together on Friday

With the holiday on Monday the Clinton County Board will be meeting on Tuesday.  The session will start at the usual time of 9 A-M at the County Administration Building.  At 9:45 the board is schedule to discuss climate change with county resident Wayne Bott.

Tuesday will be the meeting day for the Clinton City Council.  Among the items for consideration is approval of an assessment project for installing a sidewalk along the north side of 13th Avenue North to the entry to the new middle school with the property owners along the route paying a portion of the cost.

During the committee of the whole session the council will review a plan to seek a firm to design a new city website, establish a whistle blower policy calendar parking and the Mississippi River Trail.

The meeting will start at 7 P-M at city hall.

The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting Wednesday, May 28, to discuss two proposed culvert replacements along Iowa 136, near Fourth and 10th streets in Clinton over Car Barn Creek in the city of Clinton.

Traffic would be detoured during construction using Mill Creek Parkway, U.S. 30, and U.S. 67.

All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. at the Clinton Public Library’s Lyons Branch, 105 Main Ave., in Clinton. The meeting will be conducted utilizing an open forum format. Iowa DOT staff will be present to informally discuss the proposed improvements. No formal presentation will be made.

On Wednesday the 28th the Northeast School Board will hold their regular business meeting at 6 P-M at the Elementary Building Library.
