Clinton County Public Health Manager Michelle Cullen reported some unexpected good news with more coronavirus vaccines arriving in the County.
Cullen updated the Clinton County Board this morning. She did say an increase in hospitalizations in the past few days is something to watch, but the overall increase in the number of cases has been at a steady rate.
Cullen reported that there have been 2,680 vaccines given in the County. She says that includes the top tier of health care workers and long term care residents and staff.
Cullen said the county was scheduled to receive 300 doses of vaccines this week but was informed Friday there would be another 800 arriving this week for 1,100 total.
The Public Health Manager says 200 doses are being provided to each of MercyOne Medical Center, HyVee, Wagner Drug, Osco and Scott Drug for those 65 and over.
Cullen said each location will have their own system for
Cullen said they were informed the agency should receive that 800 doses for the next couple weeks, but didn’t have a delivery date yet.
Cullen said there may be some larger public clinics planned for later when there is a good supply of vaccine available.
Cullen said there is a new COVID Vaccine hotline people can call for updates – that is 563-244-3470. The Clinton County Public Health Manager says they will also continue to use the media, social media and other outlets to update the public.
