Hometown Heroes Banner Project

Hometown Heroes a new recognition program is being kicked off in Clinton.  It’s an collaboration of the Downtown Alliance, Chamber of Commerce, Lyons Business and Professional Association, Hometown Pride the Amvets and others.

Karen Rowell of the Downtown Alliance says the program includes banners recognizing individuals as heroes that will be placed in the downtown area, riverfront, second street and the Lyons area.

Rowell told the Clinton City Council the program will be funded by those ‘buying a banner’ and will not include any city funding.

She says the 225-dollar fee covers the banner and the installation and removal for two years.

Rowell says about a dozen banners have already been sold and there is an initial goal of 50.

Applications are being handled thru the Chamber Of Commerce.

The Clinton City Council gave their support to the project.
