Family Events with Clinton County Conservation-Wildflower Walk

Saturday, May 1st  ~  Wildflower Walk ~ 10 AM ~ Sherman Park ~ We’ll meet at the shelter and hike about 3/4 of a mile along the bluff searching for our favorite spring blooms. We’ll identify those we don’t know and learn their connections to us. Call 563-357-0759 for details and registration.

Saturday, May 1st ~ Wapsi Paddle Trip #1 ~ 11:30 AM ~ Sherman Park to Allen’s Grove Park ~ This is a 10 mile trip passing beautiful rock outcrops and sand beaches. You will have paddling to do as this is not a float . You will wear a legal PFD and stay in site of the group while on the water.

We’ll meet at the boat ramp and be on the water at noon. Call Chuck at

Saturday, May 1st ~ Trivia Night ~ Doors open @ 6 PM, Trivia @ 7PM ~ Rock Creek ~ It’s fun and it supports TWO great organizations (Friends of Rock Creek (FORC) AND Fishing Has No Boundaries (FHNB). FORC volunteers for and funds events in the park while FHNB hosts an annual fishing event for the disabled. It’s $15/player or $60/table of 6. Register at mycountyparks.com or call/txt 563-212-0955.

Monday, May 3rd ~ Birds of a Feather ~ 10AM ~ Rock Creek ~ Learn about the fearsome Birds of Prey found in Iowa and their awesome adaptations that make them unique. A live presentation with our red-tailed hawk and barred owl will be given at Rock Creek Marina and Campground.
