Retired Camanche Police Chief Is Honored With The Liberty Bell Award

Retiring Camanche Police Chief Colin Reid is this year’s Liberty Bell Award recipient.  The Clinton County Bar Association recognizes an individual or organization for their efforts in the county.

Clinton County Attorney Mike Wolfe praised Reid’s work.

Local Attorney John Frey-who also serves as part of the Camanche City Legal Counsel team led the nomination effort for Reid.  He said Reid who shows by example what we expect from law enforcement officers.

And-Braydon Roberts – who works with John Frey and Randy Current as the City Attorneys for Camanche – also praised Reid’s support.  Roberts said he started locally as a new attorney new attorneys are often questioned about their advice.

Camanche City Administrator Andrew Kida also praised the retired police chief

Reid accepted the award and praised the support of many people during his career and his family.

The Count Attorney also announced the 2020 Liberty Bell Award was going to recognize all of the essential workers during the pandemic as last year’s ceremony was cancelled due to pandemic.

Clinton County Attorney Mike Wolf said the Liberty Bell Award started locally in 1969.
