The DeWitt City Council meets on Monday evening at 7 o’clock at City Hall.  Among the items under consideration is setting a special election for Mayor at the same time as the regular November 2nd election.  That’s due to the retirement of long-time Mayor Don Thiltgen.  The DeWitt City Council will also consider extending a contract for tree cleanup and removal with a firm that has been working since the storm last August.  The initial contract amount is nearing the 65-thousand dollar limit.  The action would extend the contract amount by 30-thousand dollars with the extra work expected to take 2 to 3 weeks.
