Good News For Railport Development

Economic development efforts in the Clinton area got a boost from the Iowa D-O-T with an increase in a grant for access to the railport.

The Agency approved an additional nearly 3.6

million dollars in a grant for the access to bring the total D-O-T contribution to 5.9 million dollars.  The addition funds will extend the planned construction of 36th Avenue South another 2-thousand feet to 6-thousand feet in the park.  Work on 54th Street and turn lanes on Highway 30 are also part of the project.  The action was part of the Tuesday D-O-T Commission Meeting

Clinton Mayor Scott Maddasion announced the approval at Tuesday’s City Council meeting/

Transportation Commission policy allows for project scope and cost modifications for certified sites. This project is anticipated to be completed by September 2023.
