Tuesday was the first 90 degree day of the year

Tuesday was the first time the temperature has reached 90 degrees this year. Official Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says July 22nd is the third latest date for recording a 90 degree or higher temperature.  He says the other later dates were July 26 1951 and August 4th in 2008.

Blaess says through Tuesday overage overall temperature for the month is about 70 degrees which is four degrees below the normal

Blaess says there are normally six days in July with 90 or above temperatures.

The weather observer added that the last precipitation occurred on July 13th. Blaess says the precipitation for the month is just under three inches which is about 7-tenths of inch below average for the month, but the year to day precipitation is about 22 inches which is two inches above normal.
