Meetings This Week-August 4-8

The Clinton County Board (Monday & Friday), Clinton City Council Tuesday) & Camanche City Council (Tuesday) highlight the meetings this week.

The Clinton County Board meets twice this coming week,
The Supervisors will have their regular Monday morning meeting at the Administration Center.
On the agenda is a presentation by the County Engineer on the status of the paved road system in the County.

The County Board will also be meeting on Friday-August 8th. That meeting will be at 2:30 at the Camanche City Hall during the Camanche Days Celebration.
The agenda for that meeting will be issued during the week.

The Fulton City Council meets Monday evening and will deal with the resignation of member Randy Boonstra. He submitted his resignation due to time constraints.
The Council will also deal with a couple of proposals related to the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. The city’s participation has been debated since Heather Bennett, who generally both duties resigned as Chamber director.
The latest proposal to be considered Monday is for the city to provide the chamber 13-thousand*500 dollars per year for two years and provide office space. The city will also partner with the Chamber on the Fall Festival and Christmas Walk. The council will then consider establishing a Tourism and Community Services Director Position. The position would work with the Chamber and other groups on community events and serve as the director of the Robert Fulton Community Center.
The meeting is at 5:30 at the City Hall.

The Camanche City Council meets on Tuesday evening in a regular session. An enhancement project for Washington Boulevard and a the 9th Street Reconstruction projects will be the topics for discussion. The council will also consider awarding a bid for the Washington Boulevard project to Determann Asphalt for about 312-thousand dollars.
The Camanche Council will also consider the replacement of the public works director. Dave Rickertsen has announced his retirement.

The meeting is August 5th at 6 PM at the Camanche City Hall.

The Clinton City Council has their first Tuesday of the month Committee of the Whole meeting on August 5th.
Among the agenda items for discussion is the second proposal to rename Liberty Avenue in honor of military veterans. The council declined earlier and recognized veterans on Riverview Drive. The council will also consider how to proceed on a large item pickup program for the fall and aspects of hiring the McClure Engineering firm to continue working on plans for the development of the Railport Industrial Park. The firm has done some preliminary work without being paid and the firm is seeking a contract with associated fees to continue.
The council meeting is at 7 P-M on Tuesday at City Hall.

The Riverbend School Board policy committee is meeting on Wednesday. They will review a list of polices to make recommendations to the full board.
The meeting is at 6:30 at the School District Office in Fulton on August 6th.
