Discovery of Possible Human Remains

On October 8, 2022 at approximately 10:44 A.M., law enforcement officers from the Clinton County
Sheriffs Office and the Clinton Police Department responded to the Clinton County Landfill, after
employees of the landfill reported finding possible human remains. Upon further investigation, the
remains were believed to be human remains and turned over to the Clinton County Medical
Examiner’s Office for further examination.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement is conducting a coordinated search of the Clinton
County Landfill. A search team, comprised of approximately 30 members, has begun a search of the
area in which the suspected remains were located. The case remains under investigation by the
Clinton County Sheriffs Office, Clinton Police Department, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations
and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office. Anyone with information relating to this investigation
