On June 3, 2022 Whiteside County Deputies responded to a single vehicle traffic crash at 5:20am, for a single vehicle which struck a tree. Deputies arrived and the vehicle was fully engulfed in flame. The male driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim from the fatal crash has been identified by the Whiteside County Coroner’s Office as 18 year old Mario E. Toney of Dixon, IL.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Sterling Fire Department, Cgh Ambulance and Whiteside County Coroner Joe McDonald.
