How much rain did we get over the weekend. (updated with today’s storm totals)

Until the rains last Thursday this month had been driest August in weather records according to weather observer Jim Blaess.
He said until last Thursday there had been just over one-tenth of an inch of rain.

Then-on Thursday last week there was about three-quarters of an inch of rain through Friday. On Saturday there was just over one inch or rain and that made the total for Thursday through Saturdya to one-point-78 inches of rain,
Blaess says this afternoon’s (Monday’s) storm dumped about an inch of rain in about 20 to 30 minutes.
He said there was also a peak wind gust between 50 and 60 miles an hour during the storm.

That brought the month’s total to about 2-point-9 inches with about 2-point-75 of that coming since last Thursday.
. The August average rain fall is about 4-point-6 inches.
For the year to date, the precipitation is now just above average with 25.11 inches and the average if 24.57 inches.

The 91 degrees on Sunday was the second 90 degree day of the summer. The other date with 90 degrees or higher was July 22nd when it reached 90 degrees.
Blaess says the temperature on Monday peaked at 88 degrees before the storm and then dropped.
