CLINTON, IA – The Clinton Community College Library Art Gallery is hosting an exhibit of pieces by CCC students through February. The artwork includes paintings and drawings using a variety of techniques. The community is invited to attend an Artist Reception on Wednesday, February 7 at 4 p.m. The Library Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located at the CCC main campus, 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton.
The CCC students participating in the exhibit include Michael Asaadi, Jack Dollar, Allen Eberle, Gideon Mussmann and Haley Snyder. The work in the gallery was created by 2-D Design students under the instruction of Nicole Davis during the Fall 2023 semester. The students were tasked with using the elements and principles of design along with problem-solving to create two-dimensional pictorial designs using a variety of media. Davis said of the exhibit, “The students rose to the challenge time and time again to create the work presented in the gallery. As their instructor, I am extremely proud of their willingness to stretch outside of their comfort zone to acquire new skills and explore conceptual development. They were a joy to work with!”
CCC President Dr. Brian Kelly commented, “Our students have produced some amazing art and continue to grow as artist as the year progresses. It’s a wonderful process to watch, I am really impressed with this exhibit.”
