The DeWitt Noon Lions present the African Safari: Ultimate Africa – Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe & South Africa and the many sides of southern Africa
If your mental image of Africa resembles a Tarzan movie complete with jungle vines and calls of the wild, you should plan to attend the presentation on the southern portion of Africa given by Merredith Peterson on Tuesday, April 2.
Merredith and her husband traveled to Africa in August, 2018. She will share highlights of their adventure living in tented cabins in three national parks including the Okavango Delta as well as hotels in Johannesburg and Cape Town. At the end of Merredith’s presentation you should be able to distinguish a cheetah from a leopard, a rhino from a hippo, and a hyena from a jackal. For extra credit, you might learn how Victoria Falls compares to Niagara Falls, and learn if there are penguins in Africa. Come and enjoy.
Shows are at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the DeWitt Operahouse in downtown DeWitt. Every effort will be made to present the Travelogue on the day scheduled, however if inclement weather requires a cancellation, the information will be posted at the theater or contact 563-370-9394. If school is canceled or scheduled to be released early by 1 p.m., Travelogue will also be canceled. Doors open at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. A suggested $5 donation is requested. Refreshments are available for purchase.
The $5 suggested donation, the proceeds support local community projects such as Referral Center, DeWitt Community Library, KidSight, Diabetes Awareness, Camp Courageous and Camp Hertko Hollow.
