On 05/05/2024 at 2052 hours, Clinton County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a
two vehicle accident at the intersection of 330th ave, and Hwy 30 east of Dewitt, Iowa. Upon the
arrival of first responders, a Silver 2013 Toyota Prius, and a 2008 Red Pontiac Vibe, were in the
median west of the intersection.
Preliminary investigation shows the 2008 Red Pontiac Vide was travelling westbound on Hwy 30,
while the 2013 Silver Toyota Prius was turning eastbound onto Hwy 30 when the accident occurred.
The driver and passenger of the 2013 Toyota Prius were transported to Mercy North in Clinton, as
was the driver of the 2008 Red Pontiac Vibe. The driver and passenger of the Toyota Prius were
transported to the University Of Iowa Hospital, where the driver later passed away. The driver’s
identity is currently being withheld pending family notification. The accident remains under
investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
