Statewide 911 Landline Outage – Repaired

On May 30, 2024, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Clinton County Communications were
notified of a landline 911 outage, impacting a vast majority of the State of Iowa, including all of
Clinton County. This temporary “911” outage is believed to have been caused by a damaged water
line in Des Moines (lA.), which in turn damaged electronic equipment controlling the 911 landlines
across the state.

On May 31, 2024, at approximately 1:30 AM, the Clinton County Sheriffs Office and Clinton County
Communications were notified the damaged equipment, causing the 911 landline outage was
repaired and the 911 telephone lines were back in service.
