The Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1300 23rd Avenue North around 1009 hours on June 7th, 2024. Initial reports were of a vehicle on fire inside an attached garage. Units responded emergent and first arriving units reported heavy fire on an attached garage of a single-family dwelling. Crews made an aggressive initial attack on the fire and had the main body of the fire knocked down within minutes. Crews evacuated the house and continued suppression efforts. One patient was treated and transported to Mercy One-Clinton for minor injuries. Crews remained on scene for about an hour and a half checking for hot spots and ensuring complete fire extinguishment. The fire was contained to the garage portion of the residence and several vehicles within the garage. The cause is under investigation. No other information is available at this time. Crews were assisted on scene by the Clinton Police Department, the Camanche Fire Department, Alliant Energy, and Clinton County Communications.
