Construction Work & Road Closure

Due to construction work on Main Avenue between 2nd Street to 3rd Street the most disruptive phase of the Main Avenue, asphalt resurfacing project is set to begin next week.

Beginning Tuesday, June 25th, crews will begin to remove the existing asphalt surface from North 2nd Street to North 3rd Street. Right after asphalt removal, crews will conduct concrete base patching, in order to prepare the street for asphalt resurfacing. Asphalt removal and concrete patching is expected to take 3-4 days to complete. During this phase, there will be limited access to Main Avenue. The Street will be closed to all traffic during construction, and the road will be opened to local traffic only at night.

Asphalt resurfacing is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 1st. This phase is expected to take two full days to complete. The street will be closed to all traffic during construction, and the road will be opened to local traffic only at night. The road will open up to all traffic once asphalt paving is complete on July 2nd.

Pavement markings and manhole cover reinstatements will occur on July 5th and July 6th. There will be intermittent road closures during business hours during these days, in order to ensure worker safety and workmanship.

During the entirety of this project, highway traffic will be detoured using 19th Avenue North & North 3rd Street.
