Possible Structure Fire in a Kitchen

The Clinton Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire in the kitchen at 414 Myra place. The first ladder company on the scene stated light smoke coming from the eves on the Bravo side of the structure. The company entered the home and to the kitchen and had a fire on the top of the kitchen stove and it extended in the cabinets above. The fire was extinguished in a matter of minutes with a 2.5-gal water can. The owners were home at the time of the fire and were heating up grease on the stove to fry some food for supper. The grease had ignited and this is when the Fire Department was called. There was approximately $7,000.00 in damage to the kitchen area. The structure was fully insured. There was no one injured. The occupants were not displaced. The Clinton Fire Department responded with 1 engine company, 2 Ladder companies, 2 paramedic ambulances, and 1 Command vehicle.
