The Clinton Police Department has successfully identified individuals believed to be
involved in a series of recent burglaries affecting local businesses. Early this morning,
August 16, 2024, officers located a juvenile male who had previously been reported as a
runaway by his parent or guardian.
The juvenile was brought to the Clinton Police Department, where an interview was
conducted with the presence of a parent. Through diligent investigation, which included
the review of physical evidence, security footage, and valuable tips from the public, the
juvenile has been taken into custody for the following incidents:
• Criminal Mischief – 2nd Degree: on 8/13/2024 at Spring Green 226 22nd Place, Clinton.
• Burglary – 3rd Degree (Vehicle): on 8/13/2024 at Spring Green 226 22nd Place, Clinton.
• Burglary – 3rd Degree: on 8/13/2024 at Smokin’ Joes, 1606 Camanche Ave., Clinton.
• Criminal Mischief – 3rd Degree: 8/13/2024 at Pawn Central, 1532 Camanche Ave. Clinton.
• Burglary – 3rd Degree: on 8/16/2024 at Dollar General 340 5th Avenue South, Clinton.
In connection with these incidents, a second juvenile male was also located and
interviewed in the presence of a parent. He has been taken into custody for the following
incident:
• Burglary – 3rd Degree: on 8/16/2024 at Dollar General 340 5th Avenue South, Clinton.
The Clinton Police Department is continuing its investigation and anticipates that additional
charges may be brought against other juveniles involved in these incidents.
