A Clinton man has become the first $50,000 top prize winner

CLIVE, Iowa — A Clinton man has become the first $50,000 top prize winner in the Iowa Lottery’s exclusive ‘Cyclone™” scratch game, just days before the big Iowa vs. Iowa State football game.

Jeffrey Rickertsen purchased his winning ticket at Kwik Star, 911 S. 14th St. in Clinton, and claimed his prize Tuesday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.

The Cyclone scratch game features Iowa State’s logo and the Cyclones’ classic cardinal and gold colors. It is a $5 game that features eight top prizes of $50,000 and overall odds of 1 in 3.59.

From now until 9:59 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2024, players can enter nonwinning Cyclone scratch tickets into the Iowa Lottery’s Cyclone™ Football promotion for a chance to win Iowa State football tickets, including a trip to Dublin, Ireland for the Cyclones’ game against Kansas State in 2025.
