MOUNT CARROLL – TLP doesn’t stop once the summer ends! An exciting fall lineup at Timber Lake Playhouse is
just beginning! From the Paw Patrol Movie Night to the return of the beloved Church Basement Ladies, an 18+
Girls’ Night Out, and a concert paying tribute to one of the greatest rock bands of all time, TLP has something for
everyone!
September brings the return of Church Basement Ladies! Running from September 6 through the 15th, with a book
by Jim Stowell & Jessica Zuehlke and music & lyrics by Drew Jansen, this hilarious and heartwarming sequel to last
year’s fall show is sure to be a delicious ‘Second Helping.’ Church Basement Ladies: A Second Helping features
returning cast members Carrie Neal and Lydia Rose Prior as mother-daughter pair Karin and Signe Engleson. The
production also features Karen Pappas* as Mavis Gilmerson, Todd Davison as Pastor Gunderson, and Michelle
McKenzie-Voigt as Vivian Snustad. Leading the Church Basement Ladies charge is Dawn Trautman. After
choreographing last year’s production, she steps into directing the ‘Second Helping’ and promises another
memorable experience for the audience. “I’m thrilled to be back at Timber Lake Playhouse for Church Basement
Ladies: A Second Helping,” Dawn says. “I have been involved with the Church Basement Ladies series since 2010
because the ladies and their pastor are hilariously funny, deeply poignant, and great musicians, but at their core, the
shows are about their love for one another. They need each other just as much as they need their families. They
invite the audience into their sense of community, and the characters feel like your very quirky friends.” Great for
groups of local church basement ladies, Red Hatters, and those who grew up in the church, TLP’s production
promises, “You’ll laugh until your side dish hurts!” (*Appearing through an Agreement between this theatre, Timber
Lake Playhouse, and Actors’ Equity Association, the Union of Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United
States.)
Families are sure to enjoy our showing of Paw Patrol – The Mighty Movie on August 31 at 2 p.m. When a magical
meteor crash-lands in Adventure City, it gives the Paw Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The Mighty
Pups! Make it a wonderful afternoon with our themed “Chase Is On The Case!” mocktail for the kiddos, a bag of
popcorn, and Paw Patrol – The Mighty Movie! Tickets are $5 for youth and $10 for adults.
On September 21st, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., an amazing Girls’ Night Out takes the stage with Shades Of Hunks! A night
like no other that you and your friends will CERTAINLY be talking about the next time you get together. Tickets are
$30, and you must be 18+ to attend. September concludes at TLP with The Chicago Experience – A Chicago Tribute
on September 28th, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The Chicago Experience is a group of musicians who call Chicago home and
share a love for one of the greatest rock bands of all time… Chicago. The Chicago Experience recreates the sound
and feel of Chicago’s music – from the early hits off Chicago Transit Authority’s 1968 self-titled album, including
“Beginnings” and “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?”, through the 1980s, with Chicago’s hits “Hard To
Say I’m Sorry” and “You’re The Inspiration.” Tickets are $25 ($20 for TLP subscribers).
Events, concerts, and more run through December. Tickets for all events can be purchased at
timberlakeplayhouse.org, by calling the box office at (815) 244-2035, or by visiting the theatre in person at 8215
