Proposal of the City of Clinton to Take Over Ownership of All Outdoor Warning Sirens in Clinton City Limits

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Clinton City Hall, 611 South 3rd Street, Clinton, Iowa, before the Clinton City Council for the purpose of soliciting written and oral comments on the proposal of the City taking over ownership and maintenance of all outdoor warning sirens in the City limits.

There are 6 outdoor warning sirens located in the City limits and all sirens are currently owned and maintained by Constellation. Constellation informed the Clinton County Emergency Management Agency that it intends to phase out all of its outdoor warning sirens in Clinton County, including those located in the City of Clinton. Clinton County will not be taking over ownership of the Constellation sirens located in the County, including those located in the Clinton City limits, and the County will discontinue using all County-owned outdoor warning sirens by the end of 2024.

Any interested person may appear in person or submit their comments in writing at said public hearing. Also, any written comments may be submitted to: City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 611 South 3rd Street, Clinton, Iowa.
