Delivery Of Fentanyl Causing Death

On 02/28/2024 the Clinton Police Department began an investigation into the death of 19-year-old
Keaton Merle Olson. As a result of a lengthy investigation, The Clinton Police Department obtained an
arrest warrant for Camren Rebecca Cady for delivery of fentanyl less than 5 grams – C Felony. Camren
was arrested on 9-18-2024 without incident by the Clinton Police Department Criminal Investigation
Division.
Iowa Code 124.401(1)(g) Delivery of Fentanyl Causing Death – A person who causes the death of
another person while participating in a violation of this subsection (124.401(1)) and who is not entitled
to protection undersection 124.418, shall be sentenced to three times the term otherwise imposed by
law, and no such judgment, sentence, or part thereof shall be deferred or suspended.
A C-Felony is a crime that can be punished by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $1,370 – $13,660.
The Clinton Police Department was assisted by the Blackhawk Area Task Force, Carroll County Illinois
Sheriff’s Department and the Clinton County Attorney’s Office.
Camren Rebecca Cady
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent
until and unless proven guilty.
