Vehicle Fire-Structure Fire Reports

The Clinton Fire Department dispatched to 3400 Anamosa Road to assist crews on site with a trailer on fire at 0055 hours. The joint statement released from LyondellBasell and the Clinton Fire Department; at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, the LyondellBasell Clinton Complex observed smoke coming from an onsite refrigerated trailer that holds chemicals used at the facility. The situation was stabilized by on-site personnel with assistance from the Clinton Fire Department and Quad City Hazmat team. At this time, the incident has been resolved.

There were no injuries or deaths and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Clinton Fire Department (CFD) was dispatched to 318 Main Avenue, Lyons Manor, for the report of a structure fire, smoke coming from the roof. CFD responded with 14 personnel in two ladder trucks, one engine, three ambulances and a command vehicle. Firefighters quickly began investigating the smoke and found smoke on all three floors. A fire was found above a laundry room that was spreading into the attic. Crews simultaneously evacuated all occupants on the third floor.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a pinched/worn wire that was powering the clothes dryer exhaust motor.

The scene was turned over to the property manager.
