Structure Fire

The Clinton Fire Department was dispatched for a single engine company response for an odor investigation at the Travel Inn, 302 2nd Avenue South. Crews arrived on scene and began investigating the odor report when the crew located a hotel room filled with smoke. A full alarm assignment was requested at that time to include an engine, an additional ladder truck, a command vehicle, and two ambulances. Camanche Fire was also dispatched for RIT.

Once crews had gathered additional equipment and more personnel arrived on scene, entry was made to the room where a smoldering fire was located on the bed. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and began overhaul operations. Camanche Fire was cancelled. The fire had been located quickly and was able to be confined to the area of origin. Damage was limited to the room of origin.

There were no injuries or deaths and the cause of the fire is under investigation. No other information is available at this time. Crews were assisted on scene by Clinton County Communications.
