The Salvation Army Of Clinton Calling On Local Community To Help Christmas-Season Fundraising Finish Strong

CLINTON, Iowa (December 27, 2024) – As of December 26, The Salvation Army of Clinton had raised $24,500 toward its $40,000 seasonal fundraising goal, thanks to the generosity of the community. Now, the organization is asking for the community to help push its Red Kettle Campaign over the top as the year comes to a close.

The funds raised during the November-December Red Kettle Campaign season support Clinton-area Salvation Army programs and services year-round — including rent and utility assistance, employment readiness skills, and seasonal services such as Angel Tree Christmas assistance for families in need. What’s more, The Salvation Army of Clinton added a new function during the 2024 calendar year, Emergency Disaster Services – which, among many other efforts this year, assisted local families and individuals displaced from their homes after house/apartment fires. Those programs and services would not be possible without the generosity of Salvation Army donors.

“We have seen heavy demand for our programs and services this year,” said Susan Sharp, operations director for The Salvation Army of Clinton. “Plus, we’ve expanded the scope of work that we do here in Clinton and the surrounding area. Donations brought in during the holiday season make it possible for us to do what we do both now and in the year ahead—so we greatly appreciate every end-of-year donation that we receive.”

You can donate by mailing a check to the office at 219 1st Avenue in Clinton – or by giving online at clintonredkettle.org. All donations are tax deductible.
