CCC announces Connie Campbell Memorial Customer Service Award

CLINTON, IA – Clinton Community College, one of the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, has announced the recipient of the 2025 Connie Campbell Memorial Customer Service Award. The award was created in memory of CCC employee Connie Campbell of Camanche who passed away in June of 2006. The award honors a CCC employee whose work reflects that customer care that Connie demonstrated daily, going above and beyond to give excellent internal and external service. Assistant Director of Admissions & Outreach Heather Evans was recognized for her knowledge, outreach and commitment to serving the community.

A nominator of Heather Evans wrote, “Heather goes above and beyond her professional duties. So many students say she always takes time to talk with them about the admissions process with her, and they feel comfortable sharing their goals and concerns with her. Heather serves and an instructor and Phi Theta Kappa Advisor as well, finding potential members and encouraging our students to do well in their classes.” Another nominator wrote, “Heather has a welcoming disposition and makes students feel at ease and comfortable. Heather anticipates the additional information students need to help them to be successful and well informed. Heather helps to coordinate Quiz Bowl, Sophomore and Junior Career Days, Academy Demo Days, Visit Days, and scholarship and FAFSA events. With her innovation, Heather has taken some of these existing events and molded them to be bigger, better and more engaging.” And this was stated, “Heather is a lifelong learner. She graduated from Clinton Community College, obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa, and in May of 2024 earned her Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University. Heather serves all of EICC, however we know her love for her community belongs with Clinton.”

CCC President Brian Kelly presented the award to Heather and commented, “Heather is a tremendous student focused leader and a champion of staff development. Her commitment to partnering and growing students and staff is an essential part of building our future successes.”
