Snow Emergency Issued

The City of Clinton has declared a Snow Emergency to be in effect from: 6:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2025.

If vehicles have not been removed from snow emergency routes by 6:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the Clinton Police Department will enforce the ticket and/or towing process.

PLEASE remove all vehicles from the streets, if possible – crews may only be able to clear one path if vehicles have not been removed and with the amount of snow and ice anticipated, the crew may not be able to go back again later.

Calendar Parking is NOW in effect. Whenever there is a Snow Emergency, Calendar Parking automatically goes into effect until 72 hours after the snow has stopped.

Please be aware that all snow routes will be cleared first before crews begin to clear residential areas.

Priority 1 – Streets that are hospital and emergency routes, marked snow routes, and primary highways under City maintenance.

Priority 2 – Bus routes and other major traffic carriers.

Priority 3 – Residential and other municipal service streets, including streets in commercial areas. Cul-de-sac and dead-end streets are typically done by end loaders and at the end of priority 3 category.

Priority 1 streets will be plowed and salted before Priority 2 streets, Priority 2 streets before Priority 3 streets.

Non-Priority – Alleys. The City of Clinton does not plow or provide other snow and ice control in alleys. When all streets are cleared, heavily traveled alleys in Central & Lyons Business Districts may be salted.

Please contact the Public Works Office at 242-2144 option 1, option 3 with any questions on this matter.
