Shooting Investigation

February 21, 2025, at approximately 9:s2 pm, deputies from the Clinton County Sheriff’s office were
dispatched to 2021 290th Ave in reference to a report of a disturbance and “shots fired.” Upon the initial
investigation, deputies located a 16-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper
torso. The l5-year-old male was transported to Mercyone-Genesis Medical Center (Dewitt) by Dewitt
ambulance. Shortly after the arrival at MercyOne-Genesis Dewitt, the 16-year-old male was transported
by Aircare 4 to the University of lowa Hospital and Clinics for treatment.

As of February 22, 2025, the juvenile male has been treated and released from the University of Iowa
Hospitals and Clinics.

This case remains an active investigation by the Clinton County Sheriffs Office. Anyone with information

The Clinton County sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Dewitt police Department, lowa
State Patrol, Mercyone-Genesis Medical Center (Dewitt) Ambulance, and Aircare 4.
