The Clinton County Supervisors got a lesson in global warming at their meeting today. Clinton County resident Wayne Bott scheduled time on the agenda to make a presentation about climate change. He’s been before the board on another occasion to discuss the issue. (link to video show to the board included)
Today, Bott wanted the board to view a video presented recently to the U-N about the issue of climate change and the presenters case for governments to be aware of the issues and make changes.
When the video concluded, Bott said it’s an effort in awareness.

On another topic, the board discussed some issues that have been raised about those with disabilities voting absentee at the administration building. The doors closest to the auditor’s office, where the voting occurs, have been locked for security reasons. Some residents have voiced concerns about parking in the handicapped spaces in the parking lot and the long walk to the open doors and then to the auditor’s office to vote.
Elections Commissioner Eric Van Lancker says they have tried to make accommodations for those residents and will continue to make efforts to insure everyone can vote.
The board agreed to keep the doors lock for the issue of security.
VanLancker encouraged anyone with a concern about access to the office that they can request an absentee ballot by mail and return by mail or contact the auditor’s office and they could work out arrangements to allow access to the door by the office when you arrive.
