The Clinton Fire Department (CFD) responded to a structure fire located at 2020 Camanche Ave at 0320 hours. Multiple callers reported the building on fire. CFD responded with 11 personnel on two ladder trucks, one engine, two ambulances, and one command vehicle.
Upon arrival there was a well-developed fire located inside the building, extending further into the structure. Crews performed a quick knock down with two handlines, searched for fire extension in the attic and attached building and ventilated the structure. A second alarm was called for more personnel. Alliant gas and electric responded to secure the utilities. Camanche fire responded with 5 personnel to provide a rapid intervention team. CPD was on scene and assisted with traffic control. West bound Highway 30 was shut down for approximately 60 minutes.
The fire remains under investigation.
