Delivery Of Fentanyl Causing Death
On 05/09/2024 The Clinton Police Department began an investigation into a 44-year-old female who had overdosed in the 500 block of 4th Ave S. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Revelle T. Horne sold fentanyl to the female which led to her death.
On 08/27/2024 as part of the investigation, The Blackhawk Area Task Force conducted a controlled purchase of fentanyl from Revelle in the Clinton, Iowa area.
On 04/16/2025 the Clinton Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Revelle for two counts of intent to deliver fentanyl under 5 grams
On 04/16/2025 Revelle was taken into custody and found to be in possession of THC. Revelle was then transported to the Clinton County jail where jail staff located suspected fentanyl on Revelle’s person during booking.
Revelle was additionally charged with possession 3rd offense – aggravated misdemeanor, possession of contraband inside a correctional facility and possession with intent to deliver fentanyl.
Iowa code 124.401(1)(g) Delivery Of Fentanyl Causing Death – A person who causes the death of another person while participating in a violation of this subsection (124.401(1)) and who is not entitled to protection under section 124.418, shall be sentenced to three times the term otherwise imposed by law, and no such judgement, sentence, or part thereof shall be deferred or suspended.
A C-Felony is a crime that can be punished by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $1,370 – $13,660.
The Clinton Police Department was assisted by the Blackhawk Area Task Force, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office, Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner, Clinton County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office.
