She said Post Office Box customers from the Lyons Office can pickup their mail at the main office.
She said the change will be until further notice, depending on what is determined about the facility on Main Avenue
Opperman said no mail was lost in the incident. She said they were able to get into the building and gather up all the mail in the boxes and any mail that had been dropped off and it is on the way to it’s destination.

Crews working on the sewer separation project on Main Avenue yesterday damaged the foundation of the building housing the north end post office facility.
The work was being conducted in the alley adjacent to the building.
The buildings in that block were evacuated due to a concern about the integrity of the building. A couple of hours later a portion of the back corner of the building began to collapse a controlled demolition of that corner of the building was conducted.
Once the site was deemed safe from further collapse the emergency crews left the scene.
