Clinton School Superintendent Deb Olson presented the annual State Of The District Report and bragged about the many accomplishments in the district. (listen to the news on-the-air to hear the comments) Links included to national honors mentioned in the report.
Olson pointed out that the Clinton School District is one of 49 in the country to be recognized as a District of Distinction by a leading educational publication-the ‘District Administration’ magazine. Olson told the audience that the Clinton District was honored for it’s ‘response to intervention’ program to aid student achievement and was among eleven schools honored for that effort. She said the staff has been working on this for several years.

Olson also announced that she will be joining 99 other Superintendents from across the country at the White House for a meeting regarding the district’s use of technology to teach collaboration and team work to students. She again credited the staff for ‘making that happen.

In promoting the improvements in facilities, students achievement and other aspects of the Clinton School District-Superintendent Olson said one item discovered in a recent survey is that the district’s doesn’t ‘toot it’s own horn enough. She said the achievements in the Clinton Schools rival those of any district and ‘we are working on changing that paradigm” and people don’t realize that.
After the presentation those in attendance were give the chance to take a tour of the new middle school building.
