The Clinton City Council meeting is one of several governmental bodies meeting this week-check out the tentative schedule
The Clinton County Board will meet in a regular business session on Tuesday-January 6th. That meeting will also start at the usual time of 9:15 in the morning. The board as switched their meeting day to Tuesday after meeting on Monday for several years.

The Fulton City Council meets Monday in a regular session. The meeting will start at 5:30 at city hall.

The Clinton City Council meets in their first Tuesday of the month ‘committee of the whole’ session on January 6th. The session will start at 7 P-M.
The council will hear about the Development Corporation’s fundraising campaign plus consider a policy for a convenience fee should citizens pay a bill on-line or in person with a credit card. A few topics that were left-over at the last meeting due to the council’s time limits are on the agenda. Those topics include potential revenue options, a hiring freeze and the capital improvement plan.

The Camanche City Council has a business meeting on Tuesday evening. The session will be at 6 o’clock at the Camanche City Hall.

The Clinton Plan Commission will consider changes in zoning that would allow residential uses on the first floor a property in the downtown central business district. The panel meets on Wednesday at 4 o’clock to consider the amendment. The change is being considered as part of the proposed renovation of the Wilson Building into apartments that includes some units on the first floor. Current rules limit ground floor levels for retail type business.

There will be a public meeting on Thursday, January 8, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ericksen Center, located at 1401 11th Avenue North, concerning the proposal to change 13th Avenue North – from North 2nd Street to 16th Street Northwest to a 3 lane roadway with a center left turn lane.
The Clinton City Engineering Department recommends the conversion of 13th Avenue North, from North 2nd Street to 16th Street Northwest to a 3 lane road with a center 2 way left turn lane. The Engineering Department also recommends the implementation of a consistent speed limit of 30 mph along this route, with the exception of the 25 mph school speed zone. Other aspects of this conversion will involve re-configuration and re-timing of all traffic signals along the route.
