Budgets a common topic for meetings this week-check out the schedule
The Clinton County Board meets on Monday this week. The meeting includes a hearing on the proposed budget and adoption of the budget.
The tax rate for those in the incorporated areas is 7-dollars and 34 cents and in the rural it’s
ten dollars and 34 cents. The budget discussion is scheduled for 10:30. The meeting will start at 9:15 Monday morning.

The Clinton School Board will be meeting Monday evening and budget cuts will be a topic for discussion. The Administration has proposed a series of cuts of 1-point-2 million dollars for the next year to match expenses with revenue.
The board has held public input meetings and their own discussion session on the reductions. Several alternatives are expected to be submitted for consideration based on some of those discussions.

The Clinton City Council has a regular meeting on Tuesday – March 10th at 7 P-M.
There will be a public hearing on the city’s spending plan at the meeting. A special meeting is planned for Thursday evening March 12th for the council to formally approve the budget.
There will also be a committee of the whole session on Tuesday evening following the business meeting.
The council will get an update on the certification process of the rialport. That certification is a state process to help development.

The Central School Board meets on Wednesday March 11th. There will be a budget workshop at 5:30 and the business meeting will start at 6 o’clock at the Middle School Media Center.

Congressman Dave Loebsack will have a member of his staff in Clinton and Scott Counties for open office hours. Henry Marquard, Loebsack’s District Representative will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for Dave, or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend. Marquard holds regular office hours throughout Eastern Iowa.
On March 10th he will be at the Camanche City Hall from 9 to 10 A-M and then at Clinton City Hall from 11 to noon. He will be at the Bettendorf City Hall in the afternoon that day from 2 to 3 o’clock.
The Congressman’s staff member will also be in the area later in March on the 24th with a stop at the DeWitt City Hall from 9 to 10 o’clock in the morning and at Clinton City Hall from 11 to noon and at the Eldridge Scott County Library from 2 to 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
