Clinton School Superintendent Deb Olson says the recent graduation rate figures for the school is good news.
The figures from the state Department of Education show the Clinton School’s graduation rate for the class of 2014 was just over 86-percent and that’s an increase from about 78-percent for the class of 2011. “Read more’ for other details and tables of the local rates and a link to the state statistics for every district.
The state graduation rate for 2014 was just over 90 percent.
The five year rate for the Clinton School’s was nearly 85 percent and that compares to 92 percent for the state.
That was also an increase for the Clinton Schools.
Superintendent Deb Olson said the rates reflect the shows the hard work the staff and students have put in implementing the ‘response to intervention’ program to aid students and the ‘professional learning communities getting started in the district.
Olson added the rates may be the highest ever for CHS. The Clinton School Superintendent said the big thing for the district is the numbers are moving in the right direction.
The drops out rates were also included in the report. The Clinton School’s drop out rate has dropped from about 6-percent in 2011 to just under 4 percent for the class of 2014t. Olson said the drop out rate and graduation rate are connected. She also noted that students who drop outs then returns to school and then leaves school again is counted as two drop outs in the statistics.
The Camanche School’s graduation rate for 2014 was just over 85 percent. That was an increase from 79 percent in 2011.
At the Northeast School the rate dropped from the 98 percent in 2011 to 93 percent in 2014.
The Central School’s graduation rate increased from about 91 percent in 2011 to 94 percent for the class of 2014.
