Library involved in financial literacy contest & pay your library fine with food donation and more in these headlines>A contest will be launched in Iowa and four other states this that offers to bolster players’ financial literacy while offering a chance to win a one-thousand dollar prize. JoAnne Kuster (CUSS-tur) is the multi-state coordinator of Dash for the Stash, which sends people to their nearest public library starting April 15th to find a series of four posters that offer advice about things like investing for retirement.
Kuster says The goal is to impart some financial knowledge in a fun way.
Clinton Public Library Director Brad Wiles says the local library will be participating in the project.
Wiles also says that Money Smart Week is April 18 through 25 and the library will have some programs as part of that promotion.

Due to road repairs, 13th Avenue North, from 16th Street N.W. to Mill Creek Parkway, will be closed.
This road closure will start Monday, April 13th at 7:00 a.m., and will last until Friday, April 17th at 5 p.m.
This road will be closed to all through traffic. Only local traffic will be permitted.

Clinton Public Library will host a Food For Fines charity drive in recognition of National Library Week from April 13-18, 2015.
The library will accept non-perishable food items in exchange for fines on patron accounts. For each item received one dollar will be credited to the account, with a maximum of fifty dollars per person.
No money will be exchanged and the Food For Fines program does not include replacement fees for lost, damaged, and billed library items.
All donations will be distributed to local pantries and charitable organizations. Eligible food items include peanut butter (plastic jars only); canned fruits, meats, or vegetables; canned or boxed soups or meals; and cereals, rice, pasta, beans, and other dried goods. Items in glass jars or ones that are damaged, opened, repackaged, or expired will not be accepted. Soda and candy will not be accepted.
Patrons can bring all donations to the main library at 306 8th Avenue South beginning 9:00 a.m. Monday April 13th through 5:00 p.m. Saturday April 18th.

Congressman Dave Loebsack will have a member of his staff in Clinton and Scott Counties for open office hours this week. Henry Marquard, Loebsack’s District Representative, will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for Dave, or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend. Marquard holds regular office hours throughout Eastern Iowa.

On April 14th the Congressman’s staff member will be at the Camanche City Hall from 9 to 10 A-M and Clinton City from 11 A-M to noon.
