Tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week

School Board, County Board & City Council meet this week-link to agendas are included.

The Clinton School Board meets on Monday in a committee of the whole session – but they will consider a couple of business items.
At the last business meeting the board decided to review sharing agreements with some area schools for athletics. Some members opposed sharing sports based on the consideration that many students from Clinton open-enroll to those area schools and they believed Clinton should not share those programs.
The issued of those agreements for the boys and gilrs are on the agenda for action on Monday.
The board meets at 5:30 at the Administrative Center.
Consideration of a school calendar for the next school year is also on the agenda.

The County Board meets in a regular session on Tuesday morning. That session will start at 9:15 at the County Administration Building.

Tuesday night is the regular business of the Clinton City Council plus their regular committee of the whole session.
During the business meeting the council will consider formal approval of the disbursement of funds to the county from the sale of land at the rail port, The city had agreed to use those proceeds to pay back the county for a six-million dollar loan to help develop the industrial park area. Also on the agenda is a discussion about the evaluation of the city administrator and city attorney. KROS NEWS has confirmed that both have filed requests for those sessions to be closed under the Open Meeting Rules.
There is also a potential closed session dealing the sale or acquisition of property. City legal counsel has told KROS NEWS the topic is property in south Clinton as the city may indicate the topic of such closed sessions.

During the committee of the whole session the council will consider submitting a grant application that could help complete the 19th Avenue North extension to the Mill Creek Expressway.
The council will also review the idea of bond issue to bring cover the deficit in the solid waste fund paid off over time. The council asked city staff to prepare information on the idea and the cost to pay off the one-point-six million dollar bond.
The council meets at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening.
